How does laser hair removal work?
A specific light energy source is contained in a device that will target the pigment in hair and heat the follicle enough to prevent it from growing a new hair. This is device is called an IPL or intense pulsed light. Is hair removal painful?
No. The sensation of a warm instantaneous flash is felt on the area being treated. The warm feeling dissapates immediately. Before the treatment begins, sometimes ice is applied to an area to remove sensation.
I noticed your treatments are cheaper than other places around, why?
Because I keep the expenses at the spa to a minumum, I am the only employee and I don't offer a lot of different services that raise my overhead. This is a blessing in more than just prices, it is personalized attention to details that cannot be matched. Is IPL safe?
Yes, if proper precautions and screenings are done. The light from the device is delivered in a specific wavelength to protect the skin and effect only the hair.
How many treatments will I need to remove my hair?
Since hair grows in phases, we must do 4-6 treatments to target the hair in an active growth phase. These sessions are 6-8 weeks apart. Some facial hair may require more treatments. Is the hair removed permanently?
Once the hair follice is disabled, it will not grow a new hair. On occasion, some hormonal conditions or medications can cause new follices to form and grow new hairs. This is not that common, but we will take any and all conditions into consideration and give you realistic expectations.
Do I really need to use professional products on my skin?
Professional products are much more effective than the ones found over the counter. They contain higher percentages of active ingredients and are not likely to cause any side effects from fillers and mass produced ingredients.
What is microdermabrasion?
This is a process that removes the dead outer layer of skin, thus revealing smoother and softer skin.How often should I have a facial or microdermabrasion.?
Generally once a month if time and finances permit. A very good at home regime can help keep skin looking great in between visits to the spa.
